When I was a young girl, the thought of being part of the world that Vidal Sassoon created seemed magical. The man himself was, to me, an untouchable icon. Immortal. Larger than life. So… you can imagine my shock and awe when last week his son, Elan Sassoon walked in the front door of salon Tonic. Wow. He was gracious, humble, and genuinely interested in knowing about the culture I created. As we sat on the lobby sofa, I couldn’t help but feel as though I was looking into the face of his father. Can you see the resemblance in the photos? Sometimes life can hand you gifts when you least expect it. Meeting Elan Sassoon was magical.

Bumble and bumble Color Training in NYC

Berge, Lesli and Sharon had a New York City slumber party in June in a friends Upper West Side apartment. Sharon went to work at K’s salon, and Berge and Lesli went to Bumble and bumble University to learn Advanced Color. What more can three girls ask for than vegan food and swinging on swings in Central Park? You can see more photos of our trip here and here.

Wow. What an adventure. This weekend left us speechless. Sharon, Lesli, Heather and Kelly attended the 2010 Oribe Backstage event in Las Vegas April 25th & 26th. You can view more photos here. New York City

Sharon has recently returned from working March 26th and 27th in New York City. Coincidentally, Kristin was on tour and able to make an appointment. The salon is called K’s salon on the Upper West Side and located at 162 West 84th Street. The staff is really friendly and it is a great experience. You can read some Yelp reviews here. New Color Technique

Anna, Berge, Guy, and Robert recently attended a color course in Santa Monica. Speaking of Berge, check out this great review written here. The new technique they learned is called foliage. Inspired by the shape of a flower, color is placed on overlapping petal sections emphasizing the color dimensions of the new shade. Please feel free to ask about this in your next color consultation.
